Make Up By Nokcy

Noxolo Sibenya, a self taught make up artist, developed her interest in beauty and cosmetics in early 2018 and she has taught herself through videos online (YouTube, Instagram). She later enrolled at Pyramid beauty school in early 2019 to better her knowledge and skills in makeup artistry.
Nokcy has worked with a variety of TV production companies as well as celebrities namely Ntando Duma, Zahara, Pasie Koetle, Karabo Ntshweng etc.

Being a make up artist definitely isn't easy for Nokcy especially because she also has a full time job that requires her to work extremely hard and therefore juggling her position in corporate and in the beauty industry is tough but her passion keeps her going. On many occasions, she has missed out on makeup gigs because of her full time job. She also has to deal with a whole lot of characters and personalities which can be quiet challenging but all of this doesn't stop her working hard and securing the bag.

Another challenge is the makeup call times that are scheduled for as early as 4AM but her mother and partner give her full support and ensure that she's on time and safe.

Nokcy does advice anyone who is in a industry like this to always plan their day, week and month prior.

Here are some tips from Nokcy for people who would love to get into the make up industry:
1. GO FOR IT!
Don't be one of those people who think what other people have to say really determines where you'll end up. Follow your interest and make it happen.
2. PRACTISE!
They say practise makes perfect. You can watch videos online and practise while you're at it. Take all the time you think you may need.
3. SAVE UP!
Save up some money for your make up. Products are expensive and they require capital.
4. FOLLOW JESUS!
"I am a strong believe of Christ & I do not exclude Him in any aspect of my life" she says.
