Karabo Balepi - Model and Lifestyle Blogger

Karabo Balepi is a 20 year old goal driven, modeller and lifestyle blogger who is based in Johannesburg and Gaborone. Karabo is studying Entrepreneurship and Business Leadership at BAC but she also does plan on pursuing her studies in Psychology soon.

She is interested in fashion, art and all things in relation to creativity and this has motivated her to become a model. She expresses herself through her pictures of which she is being creative while she's at it. She is also the creative director behind most of her shoots because she knows that works for her and she hopes to get the chance to continue doing so as she grows and makes progress within the industry.

Karabo also does take interest in music and poetry. She writes her own poems but she has never really thought of publishing them. She reads a lot but she thinks she's a bit of a self care enthusiast.

She has been modeling since she was 16 years old. She has came across many challenges with job bookings because of her height - she is 5"7. Clients usually like her look but they tend to sceptical. This doesn't stop her, she keeps going because God qualifies the unqualified. It's all about being international with what you do and letting God guide and provide.

"Being in the modelling industry is mad competitive and Karabo feels like it's filled with a lot of stereotypes. It can get depressing and highly stressful but it does have a good side", says Karabo. She has wanted to quit so many times because what are the chances of a 5"7 baby faced girl making it to most people? Little to none but like she has said only God knows so she keeps going.

Karabo wouldn't enter Miss South Africa because she feels that putting herself out there sounds a bit scary for her. Public speaking isn't one of her traits, that is why she has resorted to blogging.

Take time to discover yourself. Know your strengths and your weaknesses and see if modelling is something you want to do. Build a strong character and be international with it. Be yourself and don't let anyone tell you anything less.
